Welcome to the Colony Palms Hotel

The legendary Colony Palms Hotel was originally built by mobster Al Werthheimer in 1936 and quickly became the place to be seen in Palm Springs. The hotel was renamed The Howard Manor in the late 1940 when Robert Howard (son of the owner of the champion thoroughbred Sea Biscuit) took possession. For the next 25 years the hotel was a haven for young Hollywood. After a recent $15 million dollar renovation, the Colony Palms Hotel remerges as one of the premier boutique hotels in the United States. The completely redone interiors are by internationally famous designer Martyn Laurence Bullard. The stunning rooms bring back the glamour and old world charm of the 1930s combined with contemporary touches. The chic continental room decor compliments the classic Colonial Spanish-style architecture of the property.Enjoy amenities such as fine Italian linens, pillow top mattresses, duvet covers, lavish selection of mini bar items, marble countertops, and oversized bathrooms loaded with luxurious amenities. You can also enjoy high-definition LCD televisions with movies On Demand, satellite radio, wireless internet everywhere, and I-POD docking stations in each room. The hotel is surrounded by spectacular mountain views in the historic Movie Colony. The worlds largest single span vertical cable car, tram takes riders 8516 feet to the mountain station in a state of the art rotating tram car. Palm Springs is also truly the ultimate golfing destination.Area- city, downtown, entertainment district, airport vicinity within 5 miles ...read more

The hotel had an intimate boutique hotel feel. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing.
They charged us 22 dollars a day resort fee, when the hotel and town were empty.

It was very clean, beautiful grounds, and very quaint.
Nothing!

This is an amazing boutique hotel! If you do not like the chain hotels, the tower structures, the hallway access to your room, or the overall experience of the big hotels then this is the place for you. It has amazing landscaped grounds, all buildings are either single storey bungalows or two storey building with suites overlooking the pool. The rooms are amazing, the pool is straight out of a classic movie, and the price is amazing! I will never stay anywhere else in Palm Springs again! ...read more

The courtyard & garden with seating groupings around the pool.

Perfect location for Palm Springs, close to Palm Canyon Dr and the room as well as the courtyard, pool area was beautiful.

The very chill music that was always playing, it creates a relaxing mood.
No fitness center.

From the road it looked pretty standard but when we walked in the main entrance I was impressed. It has a lovely courtyard with a heated pool (I was there in January) and hot tub, all surrounded by beautiful landscaping and little Zen statues, and a great bar. There were more private areas within the courtyard, shielded with trees and shrubs or the striped awnings, or you could be seen poolside on the giant couch-thing. And they always played great chill music. There was even chill music playing in the room as we walked in. the room was immaculate and had nice decor. the bathroom had a giant shower with a glass half door (I liked that). There was also full bottles of alcohol for the mini-bar and a shaker set in case I wanted to do some in-room bar tending. There was a mix of young and old staying at the hotel, but no children. ...read more

Everything I wanted was right there on the grounds. Perfect setting for relaxation and dining.
I did not like the $18 resort fee.

We loved it so much that after our stay. Everything was perfect. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and stocked with a full bar with large bottles of every type of beverage you could want. The staff was courteous and the restaurant was amazing! ...read more
